The information that is placed on the CD ROM is in PDF format which is installed on most computers, this makes it the easiest way of distributing your information.

However one file which is not  PDF is a file called Gedcom, this is not necessary for viewing any of your family tree information but will be invaluable to future researchers. The file allows the user to download all your ancestor details into a family tree program and update the details.
